What is it like working at DeStefano & Chamberlain?

We are not your average engineering firm. Being a part of our team is a unique experience. The work is challenging, rewarding, and fun. Engineers control their projects from conceptual design through construction. There is no greater thrill than watching a building structure that you designed rise out of the ground.

What kind of people work here?

You have to be motivated and bright to work at DeStefano & Chamberlain. Every day you have a chance to try new things and explore new technologies. If you enjoy the comfort of being in a rut, this is not the place for you. You also have to be a nice person; a-holes need not apply.

Is it Okay to Have a Life?

While most engineering firms expect their staff to work long hours for low pay, that’s not the case here. We believe that you cannot work effectively and creatively if you are worn down. Members of our team are expected to put in a solid 40 hour work week, and give it 110% of their effort. But, when not in the office pursue other interest and enjoy our lives. We also look forward to getting back into action on Monday morning.

What About Professional Development?

Honing and expanding our technical skills and knowledge never stops. You don’t stop learning when you leave school—that is when you start learning to be an engineer. Every member of our team is encouraged to become an expert in those aspects of engineering and building technology that interests them most, through self-study, training programs, and committee activities. If you have a thirst for knowledge, there is plenty to drink.

Why Work for a Small Firm?

To some it may seem exciting to work for a large company, but it is easy to become lost as a small cog on a big wheel. At DeStefano & Chamberlain, every team member makes a difference, and their achievements are recognized. There are more opportunities to become involved in every aspect of a project, and to grow professionally. We don’t try to be the biggest, just the best.

What Kind of Positions are Available?

We are looking for individuals with a variety of skills and background: structural engineers, architects, CAD and computer technicians, constructions inspectors, etc.
